HOME SWEET HOME! : A WALL’S TALE WALL DECALS REVIEW

When we got the new house, I think I was most excited about redoing the kids’ rooms. I had spent a lot of time browsing Pinterest for ideas and I knew exactly what I wanted to do in Little Miss’s room. I wanted something calming and girly. I started from scratch since her new room was not girly at all. Here’s how it looked when we moved in.

The first thing I did was paint the walls a light blue.

The blue was the perfect background for a flowering tree decal. I looked and looked for one that would be perfect. WallsTale.com had a a really big selection of decals for me to choose from. They even had a whole section devoted to tree and branch decals. When I saw the Cherry Wall Decal, I knew I’d found the one! I loved how it sway gently to the side and how it had flowers floating in the breeze. I also really liked the fact that I could customize it. I was able to pick the colors of the tree trunk and the flowers. I could also choose which way I wanted the tree to bend. I choose a light brown trunk and white and light pink flowers. I absolutely could not wait for it to arrive! It took about 2 1/2 weeks to get it but that was perfect because they recommend waiting 2 weeks to apply a decal after painting a wall. The decal arrived in a cardboard tube and was in several different sections. I had already received an email with a visual guide of my tree decal which was divided into different colors. The tree trunk and branches came exactly like they were pictured on the guide.

I found that labeling each of the corresponding pieces BEFORE cutting them out was really helpful. I just wrote yellow, or green, etc on the back of each piece and that made it easy to find them when I got to that section of the tree.

The decal was really pretty easy to apply. I had my hubby help me with the larger pieces of the tree trunk and branches. First I removed the white paper backing from the decal. Next, I applied the piece to the wall and smoothed it down using a credit card. Then I slowly and carefully, pealed back the clear topcoat.

I followed the placement directions from my installation guide and pieced the rest of the branches on the tree. This took me about 30 minutes.

Next, it was time to apply the flowers, birds, and butterflies. My 8-year-old was happy to help me with this part! We would apply some and then stand back and look to see where we needed more. I used the picture on the website as a guide to give me an idea of where to place the flowers. This part took me about 45 minutes.

The little birds and butterflies are so sweet! I am thrilled with my decal and am impressed with it’s quality. It has been up for over a week now and I’ve had no issues with peeling or any of the decals coming loose. I’m confident that it will last for years.

Wall’s Tale Wall Decals has so many great designs! Here are a few more I love:
